I get it… Comfort food is life. (Because, honestly, who can resist Big Tasty Bacon or cheese-loaded fries?)

But this diet only works until your favourite clothes no longer fit. Until you catch your reflection in the mirror and barely recognise the person staring back. That was me before Savour the Greens.

 

Once a relatively skinny girl, I suddenly found myself at 70kg, addicted to junk food and smoking. A trap I couldn’t set myself free from. It felt like hitting the rock bottom to me. Tears welled up as I looked at my reflection and thought, This is not who I’m going to be. That day, I made a promise to myself: to quit smoking, start running, and change my diet to bring my pre-covid body back.

Obviously, the change didn’t happen overnight. I didn’t quit smoking right away. And the healthy diet? That didn’t kick in until I was about 1 month smoke-free. (Because one healthy choice always leads to another).

 

Now, 3.5 years later, I’m completely smoke-free, running 8–10km every other day, and leaner than ever—all thanks to one simple change: greens.

How I Lost Weight By Switching to Salads

So what did I do to lose 15kg in 6 months? Restrictive diets? Skipping meals? Fasting? Tried them all—only to realise none of them bring lasting results. The only method that works is the one you can stick to. For life.

So I made one simple change.

I didn’t give up my favourite meals—I just swapped the sides. Fries? Out. A mix of fresh, flavourful veggies? In. Takeout? Recreated at home and served over my favourite greens. Yeah… greens. I started adding them everywhere! And that’s when it hit me—you can turn any meal into a salad. Not a sad, boring, “diet” salad. A real salad. One that’s so good, you’ll want to eat it every day.

Now, I’m on a mission to help you fall in love with salads in a way you never thought possible. I created Savour the Greens to share my meal prep, my recipes, and my journey—so you, too, can enjoy the food you love while nourishing your body and feeling your best.
